Moving to a brand new city, alone can be a bit intimidating. I can’t lie, I was a nervous to be moving to Northwest Arkansas. I’m 3 hours away from home, and my family is my everything. However, I was excited about the journey I was preparing to embark upon —  my new job as an Arkansas Fellow at Collective Bias (CB). Little did I know that I would grow to love it so soon.

On my first day I was greeted by so many friendly faces. I was bombarded with questions too, but not in the annoying, “I want to be nosey” type-of-way. People genuinely wanted to get to know me. It was refreshing to know that my coworkers were so caring so soon.

Upon arrival, I was informed that I would begin my first 8 weeks with the Client Services (CS) department under direction of one of Senior Account Executive,  Aly Bramel, and she’s been nothing but great. After informing me of how CS operates and its role in the company, she began throwing tasks my way little by little, and not the “go get everyone coffee,” or “make these copies” type-of-tasks. I was given real work that was relevant to CB and the services we offer.

As the week progressed, each task has been something new that builds on my knowledge and understanding of CS and CB as a whole. I’ve also gotten to attend real client meetings, had a personal lunch with our humble founder Amy Callahan, and enjoyed so much more within my first few weeks at CB.

To say the least, I’m already feeling blessed to have been placed here at CB. I feel like I’ve been a real asset to the company already. I’m so thankful to be a part of a program like the Arkansas Fellowship, and I can’t wait to see what other great memories I gain from this opportunity.
